How To Clean Your Jewellery

October 28, 2019

As with all fine things in life, you should take care to protect your jewellery and always store it in a fabric lined jewellery box, taking care not to drop or scratch. As with with most precious metals, sterling silver tarnishes, it is less likely to happen if regularly worn.

Clean your silver jewellery with a soft polishing cloth and make sure it is dried before storing. You should avoid wearing your jewellery when  using chlorine or bleach. Always remove your jewellery when applying scent or lotions. We recommend not wearing your jewellery when bathing, swimming and exercising.  A good tip is to put your jewellery on last when getting dressed.

Gold and Silver Jewellery

The best way to preserve the shine of the gold and to avoid tarnishing of the silver is to regularly clean your jewellery with a non-abrasive cloth or a soft polishing cloth. The jewellery will look the same if this is done on a regular basis.

The gold layer of the jewellery will eventually wear off over time. Preserving the original colour it needs to be dried immediately when wet. Do try to avoid it being in contact with cleaning products, perfume and other chemicals. To maintain its shine, please use a soft polishing cloth.

Stones

We recommend examining the stones on a regular basis as they may naturally loosen over time. Avoid wearing your jewellery in extreme heat and when participating in extreme activities in order to protect your jewellery. Use a soft brush with warm water for cleaning, this process gently gets rid of grease or dirt.
